I don't want to give off the impression that I am not happy about my weight loss because I am really happy and feel blessed to have come so far. I will celebrate one year on June 13th with a weight loss of 123 lbs.
However, when I look at myself in the mirror I don't feel good. All of the sagging skin makes me look older to myself. I work out in the gym 3-4 times a week. My stomach is hanging (and I do wear a body suit when I get dressed, but it's getting too hot for that now). I wear foundation and makeup for my face and do all of the skin stuff, but it's not making me feel good. I feel that I am too small and every now and then I will eat the wrong stuff.
I've been on a watermelon kick since January and not sure what that is all about but I cannot get enough of it. I am getting ready to do the 5 day detox to help me get back on track. The last time I did it, I lost 3-4 pounds in three days. So it really works! Again, I am happy for my weight loss just not happy with my appearance when I am in my birthday suit. (smile) I am not surrendering my will to continue because when I had the surgery, it was my intention to make this a life time journey.
Thank you for hearing my plight!

Hi Rita, I hear you loud and clear, I've been on this journey for 4 months and am absolutely thrilled with my weight loss, BUT I now see wrinkles and grey hairs where I never did before because I was so focused on fat. I am working hard at being "Thankful" for this blessing and second chance at life (literally). I've never been a hair and makeup girl and am struggling with wether or not to change alittle bit of everything along with the new body? Right now I'm just trying to be thankful that the fat is going and know thats why the wrinkles are showing more.

Dear Patty,
Thanks for being the first of 17 viewers to respond. It's helps to know that someone else can relate to you and to know that you're not going bunkers! (smile)
I was having a serious moment for a couple of days because I am feeling better now. As I previously stated, I am so thankful for the weight loss and it feels good to know I am still losing. Actually, I gained 3 lbs over the holiday weekend but I went did the 3 day Fruit Detox to lose and got back on track.
I wish you much success on your weight loss. I can remember being four months out and was losing weight fast. It's hard to believe that I will have a year anniversary on June 13th. I am so proud that I can say, I've lost 123 lbs.
Again, thank you for responding.

Hi Rita:
It's a real trade off for many. The main objective being to get out of that high risk health category. After that though we all have some vanity issues where we don't like this or that about our bodies. The thing is though that we'll always find body flaws so it's a matter of choosing your battles. Would you rather have fat rolls and poor health? Or some sagging skin and good health and be a comfortable size? Maybe some plastic surgery is a consideration somewhere in the future. If if no plastic surgery, we think you've done incredibly well already and have much to be proud of!
Don't let some sags or wrinkles diminish what you have accomplished and how much better off you are already. Be proud of yourself.

Rita, I swear I could have written your entry word for word, I celebrated my year post op on May 19th and I have lost 130 lbs. I feel so grateful and blessed, but the sagging skin and wrinkles are hard to take when I am in, as you put it, my birthday suit, luckily I am not seen to often in that suit!!
I have also craved watermelon, it does not seem to make me gain weight though.
If it is not too much trouble could you send the detox regimen to me I need to loose about 40 more lbs. and even though I am still loosing it is much slower so perhaps the detox would be a good idea.
I wish you luck and I hear what you are saying

Hi, I'm new to this website even though I had my surgery back in January 2005. I lost 120 pounds and I'm very proud of myself. However, lately I've been feeling really down. I read lots of comments about people who feel like they lost too much, etc. I never got to that point. I am 5'4" and currently weight 148. The lightest I ever got to was 135. Admittedly I still see myself as that "obese" person. Lately I've really been slipping. Eating lots of carbs, etc. I really need to get back on track. Could you please tell me what the 5-day detox is that has been mentioned periodically throughout the comments? I feel like I could really benefit from it to help me get back in line. I'll take any suggestions. Help!

Keil, welcome, I have not posted on the site for quite sometime, but I like you have hit a plateau and eventhough I have lost 130 lbs I still need to loose about 40 lbs. I am just much hungrier than I was, am eating more carbs and just not as motivated.
I work out with a personal trainer 2 hours each week and exercise on my own 1 to 2 days plus per week it helps but I still am not loosing but maintaining but I am not trying like I did before either. I have had a stressful summer and as I knew before I am an emotional eater. It is so much more in your head than in your body.
In answer to your question I do not have the detox diet because I did not copy it when it was posted before but I will email the person Melissa who posted it and ask her to post it again so be on the look out for it. I have been contemplating trying it also.
I wish you luck in your endeavors the site is good for information and venting, I have not been posting because I have not been adhering to the program and have not wanted to feel guiltier than I do but it is helpful.
Keep in touch

Melissa I am so sorry to have to ask you this but could you please post the detox regimen again. I did not copy it before, I guess because I was not serious about following it, but I really need to now and someone else a new member Keil, is asking for it also.. I promise I will copy it. I told him, her? I would ask you for it and to be on the look out for your post. Thank you ever so much in advance!!!

its the 5 day pouch test. I'm sure its on here somewhere. If your having a hard time finding it you can just google it. I'm almost 2 years out and have done it myself a few times to get back on track or just to give a lil boost to a plateau. I've been mia for a while but just checking in to see how everyone is doing
I found it quick so here's a link

Hi!
Thanx sooo much! I did the 5 day pouch test and I feel a lot better. I lost 5 pounds. The refresher of the rules is really what I needed. Man, was I off track. Time does that. My original surgery was back in January 2005. I've regained some energy and started walking again on my lunch hours. This is something that I did religiously before, but I just got out of it. Too much carbs, not enough protein = no energy. I'm also sleeping better. I also realized my water intake had also diminished. I feel soooo much better.
Thanx again!
