For those still learning to navigate around here, there are several cool features you'll like so we decided to start a section dedicated to just that. This is a place to share the pointers, tips and more that make this site easy for you to navigate. Help out others by sharing what you've learned.
Here are a few of our favorites:
At any time that you want to go back to the opening page where all of the topic/categories are, just click on the logo or on the line at the top left (first line in the blue) and click on The Weight-Loss Surgery Connection. That will take you back where you can see everything.
From that opening page you will see a W in a box by the topics. Topics that have unread posts in them will be in a gold color. If there are so many and it overwhelms you and you want to mark them as read and just be notified of any future ones, click on any topic and then go to the bottom of the page an click Mark Forum Read. This will act as if you have read each post and will give you a fresh slate for notifications.
Within each topic is individual topics. Any unread topic with have an arrow so you can see them at a glance as well.
One of our favorite tips is from that main/home page. Click on the logo and go to the home page and then look all the way down at the bottom of the page. There is where you'll see who all is online on the board at the same time as you. Periodically hit F5 (refresh) to update the list.
Another of our favorite tips is the search feature. Along the top/right side of the page you have a Search box and also a Search by Username option. In the search box you can type in any word/words and it will bring up links to every single post with those topics. No more scouring through thousands of posts for that "one" you were looking for. If you X Search by Username, you can pull up all posts by a specific user.
